Photos

These can evoke happy memories and be a good conversation starter with visitors to your room. Companies like Photobox can enable you to print may photos cheaply and are delivered to your door via the postman.

Cheerful colours

Bright, cheerful colours can make a room look more inviting and cosier.

Pillows and throws

These may sounds a small addition but they can make a bed feel more comfortable and enable the creation of comfortable chill space in your room. Throws are always useful when your room is a tad chilly.

Tips to decorate your room cheaply

  • Visit Charity Shops for prints, paintings and ornaments. You find items for as much as £2 in really good condition
  • Search on Gumtree and eBay for 2nd hand items
  • Look on the Wilko website
  • Use websites such as Karma now and CamelCamelCamel (for Amazon only) to check when your desired items have been reduced in price
