Provides a summary of a standard neurological examination and what the findings of each aspects indicate.
Neurological Assessment A Clinicain's Guide by Karen Jones
Provides a summary of different neurological conditions with the key knowledge required about each condition. It then goes through the neuroanatomy involved in each condition to enable deeper understanding of that region's function and why damage to that area has certain effects on individual's functioning. Finally the book goes through clinical assessment with each chapter focusing on a different aspect (such as the subjective assessment, overiew of the objective assessment, gait, coordination etc).
Physical Management for Neurological Conditions by Maria Stokes and Emma Stack
This book goes through the anatomy and pathophysiology of different neurological conditions then through the management and rehabilitation of different functional impairments associated with neurological conditions. For example vestibular rehabilitation, altered tone and movement, pain management, neuropsychology in rehabilitation and more. It is a great book to get an overview of evidence-based management of neurological conditions.
Tidy's Physiotherapy by Stuart Porter
Provides a succint summary of the key knowledge for many areas of physiotherapy such as Neurological physiotherapy (principles of CNS damage, assessment, outcome measures, treatment interventions and neurological conditions), neurodynamics, physiotherapy management of Parkinson's disease and of older people, biomechanics and many more.
